I haven’t been posting on my blog but I have been painting so, that’s the good news! I had my very first art show in Columbus, GA (Junkfest 2012). I absolutely had the best time there and sold quite a few pieces of my art! Such an honor to actually create something, with your hands, heart and mind and have someone actually offer you money for it. Best feeling ever. Not so much the money part….it’s more meaningful that I had people admire my art (not to be mistaken, the money wasn’t unwelcome! I can buy more art supplies!).

 

I’m now scheduled for 3 more shows and am already (trying hard) to produce more art for these events. So much going on right now…thank you, God! Exactly what I’ve been wanting/hoping/and praying for. xo

my exvoto…

This morning I read a little something about exvotos.  A little light flickered in my little head.

I have a lot to be thankful for.
I also have the beginnings of my next project:  my exvoto.

God has been good to me:  I have been blessed with two amazing children and a husband that I love with all of my heart. We’ve been together through easy times and not so easy times.  Those three people are, basically, the epicenter of my world. My tribe. And, for them, I am grateful.

I’m planning to add more elements to this drawing before I start the actual painting but, I thought these points would be a good start (Anticipation, Humility, Resurrection/Renewal and the Love of God).
